Abstract

To study the influence of proanthocyanidins on the expression of MMP-9protein and the level of serumTNF-α、IL-1Β、VEGF in Type Ⅱcollagen-induced arthritis(CIA)rat, and to investigate thepossible mechanism.CIA model in SD rats was established. The rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal group, model group, dexamethasone group,proanthocyanidins(1.2mg/kg、6.0mg/ kg、30mg/kg)groups,MMP-9protein expression in rats paws was analyzed by Immunohistochemistry. proanthocyanidins(6.0mg/kg、30mg/kg)could obviously inhibit MMP-9protein expression, decrease the level of serum TNF-α、IL-1βand VEGF,and had a dose dependment,proanthocyanidins(1.2mg/kg) han no effect on above indicators.Proanthocyanidins(6.0mg/kg、30mg/kg)had significant inhibition on the CIA rats. The mechanism maybe related to inhibiting MMP-9protein expression and decresing the level of serumTNF-α、IL-1βand VEGF in CIA rats.
