Abstract

Objective To study the BAEP changes of the patients with silent brainstem infarction. Methods TheBAEP were tested in 21 patients with silent brainstem infarction and 20 subjects as the controls.Results 18patients(85.71%) had abnormal BAEPs. The main abnormality showed the prolongation of peak latency (Pl) in waveIII、V, and the interpeak latency (IPL) of wave III-V, as compared with the control group, P0.01. ConclusionThe abnormality of BAEP is an early indication of silent brainstem infarction。
