Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous discectomy and collagenase chemonucleolysis or combined procedure in treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Methods:123 patients with lumbar disc herniation selected according to the indications underwent percutaneous lumbar discectomy or collagenase chemonucleolysis or combined therapy. The patients were allocated to group A(percutaneous desectomy),B(chemonucleolysis) or C(combined therapy) by the procedure for retrospective analysis of clinical data and outcomes. Results:Discectomy appeared effective for 87.7% (50/57) of the cases, chemonucleolysis resulted in a cure of 85.4% (35/41) and combined therapy,92.3% (23/25).Conclusion:Combined procedure of percutaneous lumbar discectomy and collagenase chemonucleolysis appears most effective in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.
