Abstract

What should be taught in schools of basic education? How to teach students knowledge? How to ensure students' all-round development? Answers to these questions reflect the thread of basic education reform, and affect the direction of it. Influenced by the new theories of temporary western world such as post-modernism, the new theories of curriculum in China presents many vague understanding about the nature of school knowledge, ways of conveying school and approaches to ensuring students' all-round development, which reflects that there are errors in the principles of basic education reform. The basic education reform in China must be under the guide of Marxist educational theories, surpass the views of and of new theories of temporary western world such as post-modernism, and stick to the principles of teaching aims at conveying textual knowledge and combining education with practice and work. Only in this way can a correct direction of basic education reform be guaranteed.
