Clinical observation of Heihuang capsule in treating constipation caused by morphine hydrochloride

[Objective] To study the clinical value of Heihuang capsule in treating constipation caused by morphine hydrochloride.[Methods] The 72 patients with tumor having constipation caused by taking morphine hydrochloride were randomly divided into therapy group(36 cases) and control group(36 cases).Patients in therapy group took Heihuang capsules(drug ingredient: black beans,purslane,raw rhubarb,desertliving cistanche,celery).The capsules were made by the preparation lab of our hospital,and each capsule contained 0.5 g of crude drugs.The 6 capsules were given twice a day,15 minutes before meals with warm water.During treatment any other cathartic was stopped.Patients in the control group took Maren pills,9 g twice a day in the morning and in the evening.Fourteen days were a course of treatment.We observed the curative effect after continuous medication for one course of treatment.[Results] The treatment group was better than control group in the effective rate and associated symptoms improvement of constipation.There was a significant difference between both groups(P0.05).[Conclusion] Heihuang capsule can effectively treat the constipation caused by morphine hydrochlride and it is worth popularizing.
