Analyse on Track of Indeterminate Results of HIV Antibody Test in Sichuan Province

Objective To analyze the possible reasons causing the indeterminate in HIV antibody detection,to predict the antibody amount for the patient with not sure result.Method Samples positive in primary screening test were confirmed with Western blot(WB).Samples with not sure WB results were followed-up and some of them were tested by virus loading test.Result Positive rates of retest are different in different populations,subjects with different blot patterns.Virus load would be high with the clinic patients while the WB result was indeterminate.Conclusion HIV infections staying at window period,stepping into clinic period,normal mass in special time period,such as pregnancy are principle reasons causing the indeterminate result in confirmation test.So,when necessary,it's important to take other methods,such as virus loading test,and epidemic survey to help making a conclusion.
