Abstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship of the blood glum variability and microalbuminuria (MAU) in type 2 diabetic patients with well-controlled glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Methods: One hundred and thirty-one type 2 diabetic patients with HbA1c under 7.0% were divided into high urinary albumin excretion rate group (UAER) and normal UAER group. The mean blood glucose(MBG), blood glucose fluctuate coefficient (BGFC), percentage of time(PT) below 3.9 mmol/L and above 7.8 mmol/L were monitored using the continuous glucose monitoring system (CGM).The correlation between MAU and above data were analysis by the statistical analysis. Results: The course of the disease, blood uric acid (UA),fasting C-peptide, BGFC and PT(7.8 mmol/L) were significantly higher in UAER group than those of the normal UAER group (P 0.05 or P 0.01). There was a positive correlation between UAER and course of the disease, UA and BGFC, and there was a negative correlation between UAER and fasting C-peptide. Logistic regression analyses showed that fasting C-peptide, UA and BGFC were independent risk factors of UAER. Conclusion: In well-controlled patients with type 2 diabetes, the blood glucose variability is one of the risk factors for UAER.
