Abstract

Objective Observing the therapeutic effect of airway nitinol alloy stents in the treatment of malignant severe airway stenosis by fibrobronchoscophy and X-ray. Methods Six patients having malignant tracheal or bronchus severe stenosis were implanted with nitinol alloy stents by fibrobronchoscophy and X-ray. Results The respiration difficult was quickly relieved after the stents placing. There was no position move after stents placing three to seven days after the treatment using monitor by the fibrobronchoscophy. No obstruction in endo-duct was found. Conclusion Use of airway nitonol alloy stents can quickly improve the strait level of tracheal and improve the patient's life quality in treating tracheal straitness caused by the tumor. Placing the stent by the monitor of fibrobronchoscophy is simple and safe.
