Abstract

Objective To study the effects of prostaglandin E1 lipid microsphere on proteinuria and renal function in the patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods 64 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly devided into two groups, including study group and control group.According to the level of proteinuria and renal function, the patients of each group were devided into 2 subgroups(clinical stage with normal and abnormal renal function). The control groups were treated with Chinese medicine to eliminate the toxicant and control blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The patients in the study group were treated with LipoPGE and the other treatments were the same to control groups. Results After treatment the quantity of urine protein during 24 hours and serum creatinine and urea nitrogen in study group were significantly reduced compared with those of before treatment(P0.01),especially in the subgroup with clinical normal renal function. Those indexes in the controls were also droped, but no significance betweent before and after the treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Prostaglandin E1 could decrease urine protein and improve the renal function at different stage of diabetic nephropathy.
