Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy of endoscopic ciliary process photocoagulation(ECP) combined with IOL implantation for the secondary glaucoma due to dislocation of lens. Methods 14 cases (14 eyes) with secondary glaucoma due to dislocation of lens were operated. After lensectomy and vitrectomy, ECP and suturing IOL were performed. Results With a mean follow-up of 5.9 months, the mean intraocular pressure (IOP) of 14 cases (14 eyes) with secondary glaucoma due to dislocation of lens decreased from 52 mmHg preoperatively to 19 mmHg postoperatively. The visual acuity of 13 cases improved after surgery. Conclusion This combined procedure is effective in the management of secondary glaucoma due to dislocation of lens. ECP permits direct visualization and precise titration of laser energy. No significant complication was observed.
