Abstract

Objective To study the effect of common used rodenticides in Wuhan against Rattus norvegicus and Rattus flavipectus. Methods No-choice dieting test in laboratory.Eight kinds of rodenticides against Rattus norvegicus and 3 rodenticides against Rattus flavipectus were tested. Results The death rate of No.1 rodenticides to Rattus norvegicus was 80%,and which of the other 7 rodenticides were 100%.The death rate of No.1 and No.3 rodenticides to Rattus flavipectus were 10%,the difference between them and the death rates of the respective rodenticides to Rattus norvegicus were remarkable(χ~2=9.90 and 16.36χ_(0.01)=6.63).The death rate of No.6 rodenticides to Rattus flavipectus were 70%,and the difference between it and the death rates of the rodenticide to Rattus norvegicus was not remarkable(χ~2=3.53χ_(0.05)= 3.84).Conclusion Rattus flavipectus were more endurable to some rodenticides than Rattus norvegicus.No.6 rodenticide could be selected or keep for longer time in rodent control when infested mainly with Rattus norvegicus.
