Study on the Resistance of Rattus flavipectus and Rattus norvegicus to Warfarin in Suixi of Guangdong Province

Abstract

Objective To monitor the resistance of Rattus flavipectus and Rattus norvegicus to Warfarin in Suixi County of Guangdong. Methods With the method of the National Rodent Resistance Surveillance Cooperating Group. Results Resistance rate of Rattus flavipectus to Warfarin in Suixi was 8.16%, that there was a increase compared with that of 2.7% in 1992, but no resistance individual of Rattus norvegicus had been found. Conclusions The first generation anticoagulant rodenticiden could still be used in the locus, but it should pay attention to the development of resistance in the population, especially in Rattus flavipectus.
