Abstract

The fundamental properties of limonite were studied in sinter process.The results show that limonite starts to assimilate at 1200℃ with assimilation time of 3 minutes only.The assimilation temperature of limonite is lower and the assimilation time is shorter than those of magnetite and hematite.The liquid-phase fluidity of limonite is higher by 100% than that of other hematite.And the liquid-phase concretion strength and crystal connection strength are much lower than that of hematite,so sinter strength of limonite is lower.However,assimilation of limonite is better and the capability of creating calcium ferrite is higher by 20% than other ores.The reducibility of limonite is better.
