Clinical Study of "Decoction of Reinforcing Kidney to Accept Qi" in Treating COPD in Stable Phase

Objective To observe the effect of Decoction of Reinforcing Kidney to Accept Qi on COPD in stable phase of insufficient kidney not accepting qi.Methods Sixty-eight patients were randomly divided into two groups,34 cases in each group.Treatment group received Decoction of Reinforcing Kidney to Accept Qi and conventional western medicine therapy for 2 months,and control group were treated with Fructus Crataegi and western medicine therapy for 2 months.Symptoms,pulmonary function,acute attack,and life quality were obstervsed.Results The total effective rate in treatment group was 64.7%,higher than 35.29% in control group(P0.05).The treatment group had shorter duration and fewer frequency of acute exacerbation in the last 6 months(P0.05,P0.01).Pulmonary function in the treatment group had no change after treatment(P0.05),but the quality of life improved(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion Decoction of Reinforcing Kidney to Accept Qi can improve the clinical symptoms,decrease onset frequency and duration of acute exacerbation in 6 months,promote the quality of life.
