Present situation and countermeasure of Wushu teaching at primary and middle schools

Martial Art is a compulsory course in China's primary and secondary school,however it is not taken seriously in the atmosphere focusing on exam-oriented education,and almost exists in name only.In order to carry forward this outstanding cultural heritage of the Chinese nation,we should strength quality-oriented education and improve the status of Martial Art classes.Martial Art classes should be classified as a compulsory curriculum,in which students must sit for exams,and could not graduate unless they reach up to a certain standard.The other way round,students who have a genius for Martial Art could be granted special permission in relation to college entrance.We must compile certain Martial Art routines and teaching materials fit for primary and secondary school students,train more qualified Matrial Art teachers,cultivate the students'character through Martial Art classes and make schools become a base for promoting the sports of Martial Art.
