Actualities and development strategy of Martial Art education among elementary and middle schools in Shandong

With survey,questionnaire,data stat.,induction and other research methods,the author investigates Martial Art education among the common middle school students and pupils in Shandong province.The results lie as below: almost 2/3 of the middle schools and elementary schools haven't Martial Art classes in Shandong province.Although middle school students and pupils have higher level understanding on Martial Art,schools put less emphasis on Martial Art education.Instead of increasing Martial Art teaching contents,part of the schools decrease Martial Art classes to add Taekwondo and other classes.Most of the PE teachers like Martial Art,and the reason of not opening Martial Art classes is the lack of their specialty and ability in Martial Art.They are in dire need of the teaching materials which can incarnate the ethical and regional characteristics,give prominence to attack and defend,are interesting and easy to learn and practice for students.Some developmental suggestions are also given to these problems.
