Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical nursing care effect of improved method of airway humidification and oxygen inhalation on injury Patients after tracheotomy. Methods From January 2003 to May 2009,64 patients suffering from inhalation injury and tracheotomy were included. These patients were randomized into two groups:traditionally treating group(n=32) and improved treating group(n=32) .The severty of the patients of two groups were comparable. The nursing results of two groups were evaluated using the occurrence of hemorrhage in airway, formation of sputum crust and pulmonary infection,SpO2 and death rate as evaluation criteria. Results In improved treating group, continuous airway humidification and oxygen inhalation were comformed simultaneously using microelectric pump infusion. The occurrence of hemorrhage in airway, formation of sputum crust and pulmonary infection, cases of patients SpO295% in the improved treating group were superior to those of the traditional treating group(P0.05) while 1 patient died in improved treating group and 2 patients died in traditionally treating group without statistical significance(P0.05) .Conclusions The improved way of continuous airway humidification and oxygen inhalation could effectively enhance the effect of humidification of airway, facilitate sputum evacuation, raise lung compliance, lower the pulmonary infection rate and cut down the nurses' work.It could be a promising method and worth to being put into wide using.
