Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical and electroneurogram features in 168 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy and the relationships between the results of electronerogram and clinical types. Methods The results of electronerogram(including sensory nerve conduction velocity SCV and motor nerve conduction velocity MCV) were reviewed. The interrelation between abnormal elctronerogram and clinical types was analysized. Results The abnormal rate of nerve conduction studies was 74.4% in 168 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The rate of diabetic distal polyneusoapthy was 81.6% in 168 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.More severe abnormal nerve conduction was found in lower limbs than in upper limbs. The abnormal degree in sensory nerve was more severe than that in motor nerve.Conclusion(1) The measurement of the nerve conduction velocity was helpful in the early diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy in diabetic patients.(2)The interrelation between the degree of abnormal electronurogram and clinic types was close.
