The Clinical Effect of Injection of Sodium Hyaluronate in Treating Knee Osteoarthritis of 112 Cases

Objective To observe the efficacy of the knee joint injection of sodium hyaluronate on knee osteoarthritis. Methods 112 outpatients and inpatients with knee osteoarthritis who were given the intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate from September 1998 to August 2010 were summarized,20 mg sodium hyaluronate was injected in intra-articular,one time for one week. The curative effect was evaluated after continuous injection for 5 weeks. Lyshlom knee joint function score before surgery was(64.8 ± 3.0) . Through the follow-up of 6 months to 5 years,the patients' self-evaluation,squatting activities and movement pain,joint swelling,limps,support,knee range of motion and other clinical manifestations were observed. Results After the treatment,knee joint function improved significantly,Lyshlom knee joint function score was(90.0 ± 1.4) . The excellent and good rate was 91.96%. Conclusion Intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate can significantly reduce the local symptoms of knee joint,and increase joint activity and restore knee joint function.
