Abstract

An unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligand(H_2L) and its copper(Ⅱ),cobalt(Ⅱ),nickel(Ⅱ) and zinc(Ⅱ) complexes have been synthesized employing the reaction of ethylenediamine, acetylacetone and salicylaldehyde, and characterized by elemental analysis,IR,UV-VIS and XPS respectively.Based on the experimental results,a four-coordinated enol model was proposed for these complexes. The composition of new coordination compounds is MC_(14)H_(16)N_2O_2(M=Cu,Co,Ni,Zn).The catalysis properties of these complexes for decomposition of hydrogen peroxide has been studied.
