Abstract
Objects To study the relationship between life events and coping styles of junior school students.Methods 646 junior school students were investigated by means of the adolescent self-rating life events check list(ASLEC) and the coping style scale for middle school students(CSSMSS).Results(1) boys behaved worse than girls in the aspects of punishment,healthy adaption and others of life events(P0.05),as well as the aspects of looking for social supporting and abreacting emotions styles(P0.05).(2) Life events were significantly associated with emotional-related coping styles(P0.05),but not with problem-related coping styles(P0.05).(3) The data of stepwise regression analysis revealed that interpersonal relationship and bereavement were significant predictors of problem-based coping styles.Interpersonal relationship,learning pressure and healthy adaption scores were significant predictors of emotion-related coping styles.Conclusion There is significant correlation between life events and emotion-related coping styles.There is no significant difference between life events and coping styles of junior school students.
