The College English Teaching Mode Based on Multi-intelligence Theory

The college English teaching mode is gradually received attention,as the international communication expanding and the requirements to college students changing,as well as the effect of college English teaching.Nowadays,most Chinese colleges still stick on outdate teaching modes,ignoring the cultivation of other intelligences other than linguistic intelligence and mathematic/logic intelligence.By analyzing the features of college English teaching,this paper employed American psychologist Howard Gardner's Multi-intelligence Theory,and suggested a new college English teaching mode from the aspects of curriculum,technique,assessment,activities and the qualities of college English teachers,on the basis of the focus on students' individualities and diversities.
