Abstract
The lactose malabsorption was studied with hydrogen breath test among healthy adults. The results showed that 92% of them had lactose malabsorption, the percentages of the older subjects(30 ̄50y) drinking milk and with symptoms were significantly higher than those of the youth(18 ̄22y).All index examined are lower after consuming 12g lactose than those after consuming 25g lactose.Symptom of intolerance was related to the dose of consuming lactose.About 74% of healthy adults can tolerate 12g lactose. It suggests that the people with lactase deficiency can still drink milk, but its amounts should not exceed 250ml(equal to 12g lactose) every time.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
