Abstract

Objective To evaluate the significance of using serum interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-10(IL10),C reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α),and soluble cell adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)as markers in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods ELISA method was used in the measurement of inflammatory mediators. Results The levels of serum IL-6,IL-10,CRP,TNF-α and sICAM-1 in the AMI group,UAP group and SAP group were obviously higher than the normal control group(P0.01).The levels of CRP,TNF-α and sICAM-1 in the UAP group were higher than the SAP group(P0.05),but the levels of IL-6 and IL-10 showed no significant difference. And the level of AMI group was the highest, comparing with the UAP group and SAP group(P0.01).Conclusion IL-6,IL-10,CRP,TNF-α and sICAM-1 are involved in the development of coronary artery inflammation and the disease progression. The expression levels of these inflammatory cytokines are also positively correlated with the severity of the disease and may be used as markers of the coronary atherosclerosis.
