Abstract

The research work of sliding mode variable structure control is reviewed. The variable structure control theory is introduced in the beginning, followed by the progress in the research of the sliding mode variable structure. Then the research work emphasized on the description of the sliding mode surface, sliding mode condition and chattering is surveyed extensively. In the end, the applications and perspective for further research are discussed.
