Abstract
Objective To study changes of bone morphogenetic proteins(BMP)-9 gene transcription and protein expression in liver of type 2 diabetic rats. Methods Totally 20 Wistar rats were selected and randomly devided into type 2 diabetic model group and normal control group.Rats were killed at corresponding time point, and then BMP-9 gene transcription and protein expression in liver were detected by RT-PCR and Western-blot analysis. Results BMP-9 gene transcription and protein expression in type 2 diabetic model group were significantly lower than that in the normal control group(P0.05).Conclusion The BMP-9 gene transcription and protein expression in liver of type 2 diabetic rats are significantly lower. These changes may be associated with the production and progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
