Abstract
To understand anxiety and its related factors in nursing students.Methods 215 female students in nursing school were investigated with self rating anxiety scale, adolescent self rating life events and coping style questionnaire. Results Compared with norm, the nursing students had higher sore of anxiety. There was positive correlation between anxiety and life events, between anxiety and negative coping while there was negative correlation between anxiety and positive coping. Multiple regression showed that stress of life events, positive coping and negative coping had predictive value for anxiety. positive coping and negative coping affected level of anxiety directly while stress of life events aggravated anxiety by negative coping indirectly. Conclusion Nursing students have higher level of anxiety, which in turn has some relation to life events, negative coping and positive coping.
