Analysis of the Complications of V-P Shunt for NTAHC

Abstract

Objective To improve surgical outcome of V-P shunt and to reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications.Methods 15 cases of postoperative for NTAHC complications were analyzed and discussed and the literature was reviewed.Results The main complications were obstruction of the catheter and infection.Others were intracranial hemorrhage,epilepsy,brain herniation.Conclusion The incidence postoperative complication V-P shunt remains high and we have to pay attention to the selection of indications,surgical skills and postoperative care.
