Abstract

[Objective] To investigate the relationship between lung cancer susceptibility and polymorphisms of CYP1A1 gene Ile-Val and deletions of GSTM1.[Methods] Ile-Val polymorphisms of CYP1A1 and the deletion of GSTM1 were detected with the methods of ASA-PCR and PCR-RFLP in 82 cases of lung cancer group and 91 cases of control group.[Results] The frequencies of 7th exon polymorphisms in case group and control group were statistically significantly different(P0.05),the distribution value of Ile/Val and Val/Val genotypes in lung cancer group is significantly higher than that in control group.Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of Ile/Val, Val/Val to lung cancer were 1.969(95% CI: 1.278-7.761)and3.150(95%CI; 1.278-7.761)times respectively to Iie/Ile genotype. The deletion of CSTM1 in case group was higher than in control group(P0.05,OR=2.157).However,when combined with polymorphisms of CYP1A1,the result showed that the individuals with GSTM1 deletion and Ile/Val or Val/Val genotype have a higher risk to develop lung cancer than others.[Conclusion]The results suggest that Ile/Val and Val/Val genotypes and CSTMl deletion are related to the susceptibility to lung cancer in smoking subjects, they are maybe one of the risk factors of lung cancer.
