Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of endovenous laser closure of perforating veins by percutaneous puncture in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency complicated with incompetence of the calf perforating veins of the lower extremities. Methods Thirty-six patients (42 limbs) with great saphenous varicose veins and perforating veins insufficiency underwent laser closure of the whole great saphenous veins and superficial varicose veins, at the same time, perforating varicose veins were closed by ultrasound-guided endovenous laser. Results During the follow-up time with 1~18 months, a total of 82 insufficient perforating veins in 42 limbs were confirmed to be closed by ultrasound examination. Ten limbs with ulcers of C6 level healed in 2~8 weeks after the surgery. Conclusion Endovenous laser closure in treatment of perforating veins by percutaneous puncture is a kind of safe, effective, minimal-invasive for curing great saphenous varicose vein of lower extremity combined with insufficiency of perforating veins and is particularly appropriate for the patients who suffered from leg ulcers.
