Discussion on Humanity Spirit and Scientific Rationality Cultivating in Science and Engineering Colleges

Abstract

Based on the introduction to scientific rationality and humanity spirit, this article analyzes the lack of humanity spirit cultivating in many science and engineering colleges and the consequence of it. In the author's opinion, college education should be based on the combination of scientific education and humanity spirit cultivation. Science and engineering colleges should not only teach their students the knowledge and skills they need in work and life, but also cultivate the scientific rationality, scientific spirit, scientific attitude and scientific method in students. Humanity spirit cultivation should focuses on the overall development of morality, cultural quality, professional skills and heath. The combination of humanity spirit and scientific rationality cultivating is the theme of the time, and also the essence of the cultivation of students of morality and integrated personality. This article talks mainly about the approaches and methods of cultivating overall development students.
