Abstract
Catalytic esterification of acetic acid and cyclohexanol by iodine was studied.Influences of molar ratio of cyclohexanol to acetaic acid, dosage of catalyst and reaction time on the yield were discussed. The results show that the optimum conditions for the reaction are as follows: the molar ratio of acetic acid(0.16 mol) to cyclohexanol(0.1 mol) is 1.6︰1.0;dosage of iodine is 2.0 g;the reaction time is 120 min under reflux.Under above conditions, yield of cyclohexyl acetate is up to 68.42%,and the obtained product is very high purity.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
