Abstract
As the foundation for the dam of Longfeng Hydropower Station is just located on a sandy gravel stratum,the strength of its coverage cannot meet the requirement of the design.For saving the relevant construction cost,the foundation treatment measure of heavy tamping is planned to be adopted to improve the engineering characteristics therein;for which an experimental study is made in situ,so as to verify the design indexes and determine both the construction parameters and the quality control standards concerned.
