Abstract

This paper presents the general survey of bridge management in Europe, including the statistics of bridges and deteriorated bridges, cost of annual maintenance and replacement, applications of bridge management information system, and the basic items, procedures and techniques of the bridge management. In addition, the paper also mentions in passing a little information on bridge management in the United States.
