Abstract
Objective:to observe the blood enriching function of paeoniflorin (PAE) and its effects on erythropoietin (Epo) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) gene expressions in bone marrow of blood deficiency mice, and provide the basis for understanding the molecular mechanism of blood enriching function of PAE. Methods: blood deficiency mice model were established by using 3.5 Gy 60 Co γ-ray. Peripheral blood cells analyzed, bone marrow colony culture were observed and CFU-GM,BFU-E,CFU-E and CFU-mix were counted, and then Epo and G-CSF gene expressions in bone marrow were measured with RT-PCR. Results:PAE can significantly raise the number of peripheral blood cells and the number of bone marrow CFU-GM,BFU-E,CFU-E and CFU-mix of blood deficiency mice and enhance Epo and G-CSF gene expressions in bone marrow. Conclusions:PAE has a function of blood enriching. Promoting Epo and G-CSF gene expressions in bone marrow may be one of the function mechanisms.
