Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the effect of adenoi-dectomy on secretory otitis media. Methods: 73 cases of secretory otitis media performed adenoidectomy, including 51 Curettage of adenoids and 22 adenoidectomy with nasal endoscope.Based on Surgerical methods,73 cases were divided into two groups. Before and after treatment, the data of the acoustic impedance chart and audiological test were analyzed by χ2 test. Results: The rate of transformed type A in acoustic impedance chart was 80.4% in group with Curettage of adenoids and 81.8% in group with adenoidectomy with nasal endoscope. The value of average auditory threshold increased by(15.44±2.72)dB in group with Curettage of adenoids and(18.71±4.2)dB in group with adenoidectomy with nasal endoscope, showed no difference between two group. Conclusion: Adenoidectomy plays important role in treating secretory otitis media. The routine Curettage of adenoid and adenoidectomy with nasal endoscope are effective There is no difference in therapeutic effect between above two techniques.
