Abstract
【Objective】This paper was intended to make a comparison of the therapeutic effects between the adenoidectomy by oral approach under endoscope and traditional adenoidectomy on treating secretory otitis media, and to discuss the choice of different adenoidectomy. 【Methods】Clinical data of 58 patients with secretory otitis media from Jun. 2008 to Dec. 2011 was analyzed retrospectively in which 29 cases(44 ears) were treated under adenoidectomy by oral approach under endoscope, and 29 cases(45 ears) were treated by traditional adenoidectomy. The clinic effects of two kinds of surgeries were compared. 【Results】One week and one month after operation, the clinical effects of adenoidectomy by oral approach under endoscope group were better as compared with those of the traditional adenoidectomy group(P 0.05).【Conclusion】The operation with adenoidectomy by oral approach under endoscope is better than the traditional adenoidectomy group.
