Abstract

Under the new historical conditions, DENG Xiao-ping has summarized the essence of socialism in a scientific way by drawing lessons of the development of socialism in China and other countries, Therefore, Marxism has been greatly enriched and put forward. DENG Xiao-ping's Theory on the essence of socialism not only solves the problem of “what is socialism”, but also sets the direction and course of “how to construct socialism”. This is a very important mark of the new stage in the development of the theory on socialism.
