Abstract

Objective A further understanding of MRI manif estation of hemangioblastoma. Methods The MRI findings of 11cases of hemangioblastoma ,proved by surgery and pathology, were studied retrospectively. Results Eight tumors were found in the cerebellar hemisphere or the vermis, anoth er one in the cerebra, one in the spinal cord and in one case multip le nidi were noted.Thirteen lesions were found in 11cases.Ten lesions were large cyst with small nodules;2lesions were solid mass and one was a s imple cyst.Tumors of large cysts and small nodules had higher signal t han that of cerebrospinal fluid on both T 1 WI and T 2 WI.And the nodules were apparently enhanced. In the solid hemangioblastoma flow void signal of b lood vessels was revealed.Contrast en-hancement was helpful in locating th e lesion and qualitative diagnosis o f disease. Conclusion MRI,including the pain scan and contrast enhanced scan play an important role in the diagnosis of hemangioblastoma.[
