Abstract

A 3-DOF Serial Motion Platform was designed for vehicle driving simulator taking serial robots as the research subject. After creating 3D model of the Serial Platform by Inventor Software,it was imported into Adams and virtual prototype of the Serial Platform was established. By analyzing and resolution the vehicle running state,the motion function was designed to get the real driving feeling and the status parameters of every DOF movement and key components were got. The performance of the platform with a damping device was analyzed compared with the platform without a damping device and the transmission equation of each DOF was verified. A new method based on Matlab and Adams to co-simulate workspace was proposed,and using this method,workspace of the seat centroid was drawn. The obtained simulation data can provide the basis for the subsequent structural design of the physical prototype and motion control for motors.
