Abstract
In order to understand the pathogenic fungal species of soil-borne diseases of vegetables and to screen useful fungi, the roots and stems of main vegetables were collected in Northeastern China.Based on the morphological characteristics,30 species belonging to 19 genera were identified by means of tissue isolating technique.Fusarium was the predominant genus including 10 species. The results also showed that more fungi were isolated from Cucurbitaceae including 17 species of 11genera.Generally more fungi were isolated from Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces including 18 species of 11 genera and 18 species of 12 genera respectively, and relatively fewer fungi were isolated from Jilin province including 5 species of 2 genera.
