Abstract

Objective The study attempted to evaluate the analgesic effects of pain education and clinical nursing pathways(CNP) in relieving post-operation pain resulting from craniotomy.Method 120 patients of hospitalization diagnosed as cases for craniotomy were divided into 3 groups, each group consisting 40 patients.Patients in group A(the control group) were provided routine nursing only, patients in group B were provided with routine nursing and CNP,which patients in group C were provided with pain education and CNP in addition to routine nursing care. Results 24 hours,48 hours and 72 hours after the operation, the VAS Index score in group B and group C were lower than that in group A(P0.05 or P0.01).The VAS Index score in group C was lower than that in group B(P0.01).Conclusion pain education and CNP can significantly reduce post-operative pain resulting from craniotomy.Concerted intervention has more specific analgesic effect than single intervention with CNP.
