Therapeutic effect of combination therapy with probucol,atorvastatin calcium and aspirin on atherosclerosis

Objective To investigate the effects of combination therapy of probucol,atorvastatin calcium and aspirin drugs(PAS)of patients with atherosclerosis.Methods Ninety patients with ischemic cerebrvascular disease and carotid arteriosclerosis were randomized divided into three groups.Thirty cases in the treatment group PAS,were treated with probucol,atorvastatin calcium and aspirin,30 cases in the control group AS were treated with atorvastatin calcium and aspirin,while 30 cases in the control group A with aspirin alone.The serum lipids,high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) were measured before and three months after treatment.Results Serum total cholesterol,low density lipoprotein-cholesterol,hs-CRP levels in the treatment group PAS and in the control group AS were reduced compared with that of before treatment(P0.05),especially in group PAS(P0.01).Carotid plaques scrore was on a slight downward trend compared with that of before treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Combination therapy of probucol,atorvastatin calcium and aspirin drugs can strengthen the effets on adjusting lipids and decreasing the level of inflammatory factor hs-CRP,furthermore the effects are stronger than that of combination therapy of probueol,atorvastatin calcium and that of monotherapy aspirin.
