Expressions and significance of MMP-9 and p27 in gastric carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To study the expression of p27 and MMP-9 in gastric carcinoma and the relationship with the clinic pathological features of the disease.Methods The expression of p27 and MMP-9 were detected by immunohistochemistry SP method in 20 specimens of normal gastric mucous and 54 of gastric carcinoma.Results There was significant difference in the positive expression of p27 and MMP-9 between gastric carcinoma and normal gastric mucous(P0.05).The positive expression of p27 in gastric carcinoma was much lower than that in normal gastric mucous,but the positive expression of MMP9 in gastric carcinoma was markedly higher than that in normal gastric mucous.The positive expressions of p27 and MMP-9 were related with lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05),while which were not related with cellular differentiation, sex and age(P0.05);There was no evident difference between the p27 expression and the MMP-9 expression in gastric carcinoma (P0.05).Conclusion The expressions of p27 and MMP-9 were related with the occurrence and metastasis of gastric carcinoma.
