Abstract
n\% Butyl stearate was synthesis in high yield by esterification of \%n\% butyl alcohol with stearic acid in the presence of sodium bisulfate monohydrate. The effects of the amount of sodium bisulfate monohydrate, the amount of \%n\% butyl alcohol and reaction time on the yield of \%n\% butyl stearate have been investigated. The yield of the ester could reache 96.4% under amount of substance ratio of stearic acid, \%n\% butyl alcohol and sodium bisulfate were 1∶4∶0.07, refluxing and water segregating for 2 h.
