Abstract
In presence of KSCN and polyethylene glycol-2000,the trace zinc in municipal sludge was determined based on the coloring reaction between Zn(Ⅱ) and rhodamine B(RhB).The results showed that, the coloring reaction between Zn(Ⅱ) and RhB was highly sensitive in the medium of 0.84 mol/L HCl.The formed complex Zn2+-SCN-RhB had maximum absorption wavelength at 600 nm.The apparent molar absorptivity was 1.6×106 L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer's law was obeyed for the content of Zn(Ⅱ) in range of 0-0.060 mg/L.The detection limit of method was 0.04 μg/L.The proposed method was applied to the determination of trace zinc in municipal sludge, and the results were consistent with those obtained by dithizone photometry. The relative standard deviation(RSD,n=6) was 0.3 %.
