Abstract

A new ultra sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of Zn 2+ was developed by using Zn 2+ SCN - RhB PVA system. In the medium of hydrochloric acid, the reaction has high sensitivity. The apparent molar absorptivity of Zn RhB complex is 1.58×10 6 L·mol -1 ·cm -1 ,Beer's law is obeyed for the mass concentration of Zn(Ⅱ) in the range of 0~2.0 μg/50 mL.The contents of zinc in drinking water were determined by the new method
