Comparison of compatibility for lily distant hybridization

Wild lilies,lily cultivars and interspecific hybridizations are treated as researching objects of distant hybridization.In the situation of stigma pollination,hybridization between Lilium pumilum(female parent) and L.longiflorum(male parent) showed obvious compatibility,seeds with embryo and hybrid seedlings were obtained;hybridization between L.callosum(female parent) and 'Siberia' or 'Snow Queen'(male parent) were accessible to gain hybrid seedlings by sterile culture on seeds and inflated ovaries.After pollination in style,hybridization between L.lancifolium and 'Red Knight' was compatible and the amount of seeds with embryo was on a high rate of the total amount;hybridization between L.longiflorum and L.pumilum or L.callosum could also result in hybrid seedlings by embryo culture;L.Oritential 'Siberia' showed weak compatibility with wild lilies,and pollinated ovaries could not be inflated.Under the treatment of KCl on stigma,hybridization between L.Asiatic Hybrid and L.Longiflorum 'Snow Queen' as well as the crossing between L.Asiatic Hybrids and L.Oritential Hybrids show favorable compatibility.Obtaining the hybrid seedlings between L.Asiatic Hybrids and L.Oritential Hybrids added new foundation to solve the breeding problems of AO hybrid.
