As a breeding interdisciplinary field of research,social cognitive neuroscience investigates social phenomena and processing using research tools of neuroimaging and neuropsychology.Social cognitive neuroscience and social psychology influence and promote each other.Social cognitive neuroscience enriched and developed theories,viewpoints,and methods of social psychology.The contribution of social cognitive neuroscience to social psychology focuses on three areas:understanding others,self,interaction between self and others.Social cognitive neuroscience can not solve all problems of social psychology because of methodological limitations.The integration of two disciplines may be an important development direction of psychology.
