Clinical analysis of Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure in Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical Lesions

Objective To evaluate loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical diseases.Methods A total of 169 patients with cervical lesions received colposcopy-guided biopsy following by LEEP.The pathological diagnosis was compared before and after LEEP.Results The pathological grade of ultimate diagnosis after LEEP was increased,compare with biopsy-based diagnosis before LEEP in 41 cases.The correction rate of the diagnosis by colposcopy-guided biopsy was 75.7%(128/169).There was significant difference in diagnosis between colposcopy-guided biopsy and specimens after LEEP(P 0.05).Conclusion LEEP is safe and easily performed with good therapeutic effect and less morbidity.The whole specimen can be provided by LEEP for pathological examination.LEEP is an ideal method for diagnosis and treatment of cervical lesions,especially for chronic cervicitis and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
